K-Mart first opened its doors in Garden, Michigan during the year 1962 under the S.S. Kresgee Corp. This particular corporation was owned by S.S. Kresgee who is the businessman that started K-Mart. Customers can check their K-Mart gift cards in one of two ways. They go online and enter their card and pin numbers into the check balance and reload area of the K-Mart gift card page. As soon as the information is entered into the fields and sent through the system information about a card's value will be shown on screen in a matter of seconds. This particular area is located toward the bottom right side of the page. Customers who desire to increase their card's amount have the option of adding more money to their cards through a credit or debit card.
Customers can also go inside of a local K-Mart store and find out their remaining card balance. Cashiers or service counter representatives can help gift card holders to quickly discover how much cash that they have left to spend. Customers can also reload money onto their cards while in-store.
